Photonic Quantum Computer

Photons based quantum computers might possess key advantages over the electron ones.

The major drawback of superconducting circuits or trapped ions based quantum computer is that they demand temperatures much colder than those found in deep space

On the other hand, photon based quantum computers can operate at room temperature. That makes it readily available to integrate with fibre optic telecommunication infrastructure.

Toronto based startup Xandu has released the world’s first publicly available photonic quantum computing platform. Xanadu’s strategy of continuous variable for a photonic quantum computing is easily compatible with the strategies for error correction and fault tolerance.
